Vocabulary Test on Thursday over Chapter 1 (all) and Chapter 2 Sections 1 and 2.

Test

Students took a test today.

They were given their Chapter 1-1 to 1-5 test to correct.

Review

Students need to review for their test on Thursday. It will cover Chapter 1 Sections 6, 7, and 8.

1-8 Introduction to Functions

Students completed an exploration worksheet. Each student was given a notecard that they labeled with the following terms: coordinate plane, x-axis, y-axis, origin, ordered pair, and quadrants I-IV. Students were given a worksheet in which they were to label each point with the correct ordered pair and then create a table using the coordinates.

1-4 Powers and Exponents

Students were asked to write definitions of three vocabulary words--power, base, and exponent. Students were asked to complete the assignment on page 29.

1.3 Multiplying and Dividing Real Numbers

After reviewing the rules for multiplying and dividing real numbers, students were allowed to work on the assignment. Pages 23-25, 14-24 even, 25, 26-66 even, 73-74, 90-98 Extra Credit p. 25 76-88 even

1-2 Adding and Subtracting Real Numbers

Today, we learned how to add and subtract numbers with the same signs and with different signs. We did this using number lines, integers, calculators, and the rules of signed numbers. The assignment is page 17-19, 13-35, 37-42, 50-52, 60-68. Extra Credit problems are p. 19 54-58 even.
